Professional Development
We've had the privilege of having a few guest speakers come to us to share their expertise in their fields in education!

Susan Turner, the President of the PASD School Board, along with board member Scott Overland, visited us to share insights about their roles on the school board and the impact their involvement has had on Phoenixville.

Dr. Chris Clayton talked to our elective class about teacher retention and facts related to his work with PSEA. He stayed to meet our club members after school and gave us updates for the 2025 State Conference

Mrs. Alyson Riffey discussed the McKinney-Vento Act with us during Homelessness and Hunger Awareness Week. She provided insights into homelessness in Pennsylvania and our local community, as well as ways to ensure that all students have access to quality education.

Mrs. Marcia Ford-Bey guided us in discovering our identity and exploring the concepts of equity and equality in education.

Mrs. Sylvia Rockwood is the Head of Human Resources at PASD. She shared with us about the interview process and the orientation programs for new teachers.
Professional development is essential for growth as educators. Guest speakers offer valuable insights, while classroom observations showcase strategies that our members can implement. Pre-service training equips future teachers with essential skills before they even step foot into a college. These experiences enhance teaching quality and benefit student outcomes.
