Professional Development

11 PAHS EdRising students have started Student Teaching placements in the elementary schools in PASD.  They will spend one month working with a cooperating teacher in the grade level they would like to pursue as a career.  EdRising student teachers will observe, lead, and plan lessons and learn what being in a classroom is truly like.

This past November and January, over 30 club members have attended Manavon Elementary to teach lessons on optimism and new cultures. Students were assigned in pairs and were able to design a curriculum for the class. Students were able to gain real world expirience in the classroom

Ed Rising: Students observed and interacted with students at the Gingerbread House Preschool program. Students were able to observe their day and incorporate themselves into their lesson. This experience allowed students to understand what goes into teaching toddlers.

Ed Rising students visited West Chester University to learn about methods of teaching early education. Breakouts included sessions with Mrs. Hickey on topics of early education. Group discussions occurred with current West Chester Students.

Professional development is essential for growth as educators. Guest speakers offer valuable insights, while classroom observations showcase strategies that our members can implement. Pre-service training equips future teachers with essential skills before they even step foot into a college. These experiences enhance teaching quality and benefit student outcomes.
