Article 2: General Purpose

This will be achieved in part through researching best practices, field experiences, and involvement in the resources that are provided by our membership with Educators Rising.
Article 3: Membership
Any Phoenixville Area High School student interested in exploring a future career in education or learning more about the path to becoming a teacher is welcome to join the Educators Rising club. There are no required dues to be a club member. If funding is needed for field trips, conferences, or special activities, costs will be communicated and collected on a case by case basis.
State and national Educators Rising membership is strongly encouraged. The annual $15 membership fee allows students to participate in state and national conferences, competitions, and additional professional opportunities.
Article 4: Officers
The club is led by a team of student representatives who serve in leadership roles throughout the year. These student leaders are selected from members who volunteer to take on additional responsibility. If more students volunteer than there are available positions, elections may be held. The club’s faculty advisor also participates in the leadership selection process and decision making.

How This Club Will Positively Affect PAHS
An in-house chapter of Educators Rising will provide many PAHS students an opportunity to explore a career in teaching. Through its many resources and events, our students will investigate and experience what teaching is. It is also an opportunity for building their credentials going into potential continuing education. Educators Rising states that “We know that students who have participated in the Educators Rising program are better candidates for joining a college/university teacher pathway program.” As a club, we hope to instill the love for teaching, while preparing our students for what their future could hold and affording students many opportunities to achieve these goals.
